Detoxify Your Body In Six Easy Steps

Errant dietary habits and unhealthy lifestyles can lead to a buildup of toxins within the body, resulting in chronic fatigue, lethargy, headaches, constipation and unexplained aches and pains. No matter how many medications you take for these, they simply refuse to go away because the problem is on the INSIDE and your body needs holistic healing instead of symptomatic relief. Moreover, such generalized symptoms may be your body’s way of telling you that it is buckling under pressure and that it needs a break. So, do your body a favor and give it a detox treatment with this simple, step-by-step guide.

Step # 1: Cut Down On The Toxins

This should be the first and the most obvious step in any detoxification program. Cut down on caffeinated beverages like tea and coffee, tobacco products, alcohol, drugs, processed sugars and saturated fats as these strain your system and alter your metabolism, leading to the production of toxins. Even when you are not on a detox program, it is recommended that you limit your intake of these to a bare minimum. Green tea is an excellent alternative as it stimulates the metabolism and aids in detoxification.

Step # 2: Give Your Organs Some Rest

The primary reason for toxic buildup is that your organs (liver, kidneys, lungs) are unable to process whatever you are throwing their way. Observe a day of fast. It is not all that difficult if you develop the willpower. In fact, it is recommended that you choose a particular day every week when you drink only water. However, if a full-fledged fast does not fit into your lifestyle, you can observe a “juice fast”, which permits fresh and unsweetened fruit or vegetable juices.

Step # 3: Stimulate The Release Of Toxins

The next step would be to try and flush out the toxins that are already present in your body. The easiest way to achieve this is to have plenty of water. Water drives your liver and kidneys into action and also serves as a medium for carrying toxins out of the body. Drinking water also facilitates healthy bowel movement, which is another route for toxins to leave your body. Also make it a point to each fiber-rich food along with Vitamin C, which is known to enhance liver function.

Step # 4: Eliminate Toxins Through The Skin

Toxins can make your skin look dull, lifeless and aged. Hence , it is important to deep-cleanse your pores from time to time. Encourage perspiration through rigorous exercise or hot sauna baths. The more you perspire, the more effectively you will eliminate toxins from your body.

Step # 5: Improve Blood Circulation

All detox programs aim to improve blood circulation in order to speed up the breakdown and elimination of toxins.  Indulge in a relaxing massage or a few minutes of aerobic exercise to enhance circulation and practice deep breathing techniques to infuse the cells of your body with oxygen.

Step # 6: Stay Stress Free
